| | MISSION MOMENTS WITH “FUZZ” September 08’ MONTHLY MISSION REPORT FOR REV ARMOND S. FLOYD
THE WORD: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
UPDATES:
Well there are repairs & reconstructions going on, as you would have expected. Many of lives that were displaced because of “Ms. Nature” are slowly being “replaced”. Here in Waterloo and @ Bridge Of Hope Church this is true as well. There has been a lot of clean up this summer & now there are lots of reconstruction duties. And just when we thought that it was over, these poor people Davon & Bridget (the Saffolds) and their four children were flooded out of their apartment complex because of a busted hot water line. Davon is the man that I am working with forming “The Exiled” Teen outreach. They were put up in the Riverview Conference Center where Rachel the kids & I stayed when we first moved here. They were there for a week and as a form of service to the Center I am doing some various physical labor.
Like wise I am attempting to continue to split my time between planning & implementing youth services, mentoring 4 teens and 5 adults, leading worship services & practices, following up with & getting acquainted with new church members & the Collins’ house and the Dos’ farm lending a helping hand to rebuild their lives. I do all this because the word says that we should not grow weary in doing good deeds in Galatians 6:9. Plus I just figure that since I love them and because they call me pastor I should show it and be it to them.
CHURCH & TEEN NEWS:
attendance with thirteen of our regular attendees out of the service and another twelve that were stranded We celebrated 2 years of ministry at the theater this past Sunday! We had One Hundred and ten in because we did not have a means to get them to church! We have been more flexible with the service at the theater and have added Testimony time and or time to come to the cross for prayer and healing. It has been an awesome time & I believe that God is honoring our attempts to incorporate Him into the service. You see God needs to have His place in the service in order for you know yours. I am glad to announce that because of the turn out & response of the teens this summer for the trial youth church separation services we have begun our teen church service called “Transformers”. There was a little hesitation about pulling the teens out of the service to teach them separately, but we have seen that they are becoming more involved and have a sense of ownership to this service. We still worship together & fellowship at the 15-minute break together, but just as the break ends we split for individual teachings. There were 24 teens in this service 12 more than earlier this summer for the trial attempt! Most of them are either new to the church or have been coming only a short time. What a joy to be working with the teens again & to have the teens back in service even though in a very different way. There is really a difference in worship and during the services. A lot of the youth that came when I was new in 05’ have since been either away from God and the church and have fallen into hard times and even pagan worship of sorts.
FAMILY NEWS:
It is an awesome feeling to see your children grow up in the Lord! I am so very proud of my powerful & mighty children in the Lord. I pray that they’re at least as strong when they grow older as they are now!. Thank you to those who have partnered with us by increasing your support to insure that they attend a Christian school. Know that this is exactly where your extra donations are going & that you have contributed in your own way to the spiritual growth of the Floyd family children. It is a joy to celebrate the three at home kids & the one there in Wisconsin with our two grand kids! We are truly blessed.
Harmony with her creative writing skills like her mother, Richard with his loving & warm heart and strength to match, Aria with her totally uniquely individual personality & love for her DAD! And for Tracy with her evangelical heart and love for her colleagues that she would preach to them the Gospel! I am so proud of my family! My wife especially! Rachel has really grown spiritually these past 2 years & now is co-leading a single mom’s ministry for Bridge that promises to be great! If there are any men happier or prouder of his family than I am right now… I would almost bet that you are lying!----------------------------------ARMOND-----------------------------------------
PRAYER REQUESTS: • Please lift up our body of believers that God would do a mighty work through them all • Pray that God would allow a speedy & full recovery to the Collins & Dos families • Please continue to lift us up as we do the will of the Father here in Waterloo
